Hernán Hecht

He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 18, 1975. He studied Drums Performance in the Technological Institute of Contemporary Music (ITMC). He has also attended the Master classes and international seminars of musicians such as Alex Acuña, Will Kennedy, Bill Bruford, Pat Masteloto, Allan Holdsworth, Gary Husband, Danny Gotllieb, Mike Stern, Joey Heredia, Joe Zawinul, Alphonso Jhonson, Dave Weckl and Clarence Penn. He also studied at Berklee University in Argentina (1995) and in Mexico City (1997). Professionally, he has been part of several jazz groups and participated in the projects of various musicians: Luis Salinas, the Martin Negro Quartet, Queruza, Daniel Copquin, Santella-Jaime Hecht jazz trio in Argentina, Francisco Lelo de Larrea, Mark Aanderud, Aarón Cruz, Francisco Téllez, Germán Bringas, Xel-Ha, Montage, Lury Molina, Magos Herrera, Cristóbal López, Cráneo de Jade, the Xul Quintet, the Alejandro Campos Quartet, Eduardo Piastro, Iraida Noriega, Enrique Nery and Alain Derbez in Mexico; Frank Gambale (USA) Scott Henderson (USA), Gabriel Hernández (Cuba) Pere Soto (Spain), Statements (Germany), Tyler Mitchel (USA), Jarry Singla (Germany), Dave McMurdo (Canada), Brent Jensen (US), Randy Vincent (USA), Rob Walker (USA), Ken Basman (Canada), Dave O'Higgins (UK), Tom Cawley (UK), Gus Andrews (UK), Santella/Cruz/Hecht Jazz Trio(Arg.-Mex) Drum Festival   "La Fiesta de los Bateristas Argentinos" 95', 96', "Seis en el tiempo" México 97', 98'; 11' Drums Meeting In Mexico 2002, 4' Drums Meeting in Puebla 2002 and 2003, Semifinalist of Drum Off in Los Angeles in Guitar Center (1998), "América, Asia y África" Mexico 1999, "La Noche más Caliente de los Bateristas Argentinos" Buenos Aires 2002, Corresponsal of "Club de Bateristas Argentinos".
